Dr. Richard H. Hall, D.V.M
Dr. Richard Hall grew up on a ranch in Arcadia, Florida which started a lifelong passion for the care of animals. After attending veterinary school at the University of Florida, Dr. Hall graduated from the North American Academy of Veterinary Orthopedic Surgery, and soon after obtained his masters in Periodontics, Orthodontics, Endodontics, and Restorations at The Animal Dental Training Academy of Baltimore.
Upon his return to Southwest Florida, Dr. Hall established Southwest Florida Veterinary Services in November of 1989, and has been serving Desoto, Charlotte, and Sarasota County residents for over 25 years.

Dr. Flegel, DVM
Dr Flegel is a MO native and graduate of Veterinary Medicine from Mizzou in 2001. Since then, Dr. Flegel practiced in Bradenton before moving to the Florida Keys for 12 years.
Southwest Florida called the family back in 2016, where they enjoy the outdoor Florida life.Dr Flegel's husband Bill, daughter Sirena, son Marlin and their furry family spend their time boating in the gheenoe whenever possible. They also enjoy fishing, hiking, camping, fossiling and playing on the beach.
Barney the Blue Heeler comes along when he can. Their two cats, gerbil, fish, turtles, and occasional wayward frog prefer to stay home and hangout by the pool.
Dr. Van Orsdell, VMD
Dr. Kym Van Orsdell was born and raised in New Jersey. She did her undergrad work at the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania and received her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1985. That same year, she married Dr. Frank Berrish, also a veterinarian from the University of Pennsylvania and came to practice in Florida.
Dr. Van Orsdell has worked in various practices as an associate, worked some years as a relief vet and worked 10 years in the Fort Myers ER and the Veterinary Emergency Clinic of Port Charlotte. Dr Hall and Dr. Van have known each other for nearly 30 years and she has worked at SouthWest Florida Veterinary Services treating small animals when Dr. Hall attended to his large animal duties. Dr Van has been working full time with Dr. Hall since October 2015.
